Two Days!

Today is Tuesday. It’s also two days… left to prep for Creative University. Will I make it? Yes! There is always enough time to do everything you need to do. (I’m going to keep reminding myself that over the next 48 hours).

This is why I do it…..

Giving Thanks

here's a card

To show our appreciation of the hospitality that we receive at Lutherhaven, (the CU camp), bring a few extra cards or a thank-you token for the hard working staff. The camp is a year-round facility, staffed by many who live on site. From cooks to office personnel, they are there to serve you. Let them know you appreciate them. You may wish to give your thank-you cards individually, or you may drop them off to me (Tresa) and I will distribute them to the staff.

Nona Davenport

My secret talent is... hip hop dancing, though I'm not as "talented" as I like to be.

I spend way too much time....knitting.  Is this a problem???

The best gift I could receive.... quality time with my family.  I can think of lots of "things" that I want.  But truthfully, the most fulfilling things in my life aren't things at all.  My fondest memories are the vacations that we've gone on and spending quality time together.

I think it's funny when... people fall down.  (does this make me evil?)

“Charming” Jewelry Class

Charms are not just for bracelets! Anything that can be strung on a headpin can be used to create baubles for things like earrings and necklaces too!  In this class, we will learn how to properly open and close jump rings, stack beads to create baubles/charms, make wire wrapped loops to finish your "charm", attach jump rings, attach toggle clasps to an unfinished chain, and create a fabulous necklace.

Supply List
Basic Jewelry kit, consisting of:
* 1 pair of needle nose pliers (flat, no teeth)
* 1 pair of side cutters (wire snips)
* 1 pair of round nose pliers

click for image of tool kit

*All can be purchased for under $10 at WalMart, JoAnn's, or other craft stores.  Or, you can raid your husband's tool kit. :)  These tools are not just for jewelry making, they also come in handy for scrapping and crafting, too!  These are VERY light weight and can easily be packed in your checked in luggage if you're flying.  DO NOT pack these in a carry on.  They WILL be confiscated by TSA.
It is strongly recommended for each student to bring their own set if possible. There will be a couple of sets of tools to share, but it will make your project go a lot faster if you bring your own and don't have to wait for the shared tools.

My favorite guilty pleasure....  False eyelashes (yah baby!)

My secret talent is... I played the trumpet for 7 years.

The best gift I could receive.... I've already received two "best gifts" - a wonderful husband and a sweet and darling doggie...  but since we're wishing I would love for someone to pay off my mortgage and pay for a couple adoptions.

Something in my closet I should throw out but haven't... my lingerie from my honeymoon - like it's ever going to fit again. HA!

If someone gave me 4 hours of uninterrupted time…. I would probably waste it by calling all my friends to tell (brag to) them about this unbelievable event and by the time I was done…I’d only have 10 minutes left.
My secret talent is….. cooking from scratch without recipes!
When I was a kid I wanted to grow up to be… a Vegas Dancer (no, not a stripper!), like a Rockette…however, I am such a klutz I would have never made it. I would have truly “broke a leg”.
I am currently working on…. myself

Something that makes me really mad...bad drivers and mean people.

If someone gave me 4 hours of uninterrupted time …I would split it between crafting, sleeping, reading, computer.  One hour of each sounds good!
